Larry Burnett, DDS

     Dr. Larry Burnett received his dental degree from the Medical College of Virginia, which is now known as Old Dominion University. After graduation he practiced in the states of Virginia and Florida.  He was Supervising Dentist and Adjunct Professor of Oral Microbiology at the School of Dental Hygiene, Northern Virginia Community College Annandale, Virginia.
     Dr. Burnett became a noted lecturer and authority on the subject of periodontal therapy and caries prevention. He has traveled throughout the United States and Canada making presentations at the Academy of General Dentistry Annual Scientific Sessions, the American Dental Association Annual Scientific Sessions and the American Dental Hygienists’ Association Annual Session.  His extensive experience led him to become a co-designer of one of the most widely used ultrasonic instrument, the Burnett Power Tip (named after Dr. Burnett) which is used to treat periodontal disease.  He has authored numerous articles on non-surgical treatment of periodontal disease, biofilms and caries prevention.
     The AGD Video Journal of Dentistry Program published his video called "Clinical Considerations of Non-Surgical Treatment of Periodontitis in 1992. He also produced and published his own continuing education video and manual entitled, "Advanced Ultrasonics in General Practice Periodontics", 1997.
     Dr. Burnett moved to Oregon in 1997 to be an administrator at Willamette Dental for quality of care in dental hygiene, periodontics and caries prevention.  Later, he became a consult/investigator for the Oregon Board of Dentistry.
     He continues to write to various groups on how to stop early childhood caries. Currently he provides no shots, no drill, no pain dental services to schools in Washington.

Marilyn Chew, RDH, EPH

     Marilyn has been a hygienist for 19 years which has given her experience working in both private practice and public health.  Her experience has given her the opportunity to work with adults, ederly, pregnant moms, those with special needs and children from diverse populations.  The last three years she has managed a mobile preventive van providing school-based sealant programs to schools throughout Washington State.

     Marilyn attended college in Oregon at Lane Community College where she received credentials to become a Licensed Dental Hygienist.  Later she received her Limited Access Permit to practice without dental supervision in underserved areas.  She attended Pacific University working towards her BS degree.  In 2009, she received her Washington Dental Hygiene License and her school based sealant endorsement.

     Marilyn is a member of the American Hygienists Dental Association.  She was also part of the Oregon Dental Hygienists Association where she was elected president twice.  She was one of the first recipients of a national award given by Sunstar Butler/RDH Magazine.  The prestegious Award of Destinction was given for her innovations, leadership and commitment to better health for her patients.

     Marilyn continues to be dedicated to keeping informed and educated about new evidence-based practices that will keep children’s teeth healthy for a lifetime, free of decay and fillings.
